The Summer Reading Program Begins June 10th!
The Community District Library branches have several free events planned for June as part of our summer reading program.Kids can play with dirt playdough at the Bancroft Branch on June 18th from noon until 3:00pm! Music lovers are invited to Marimbamania on June 20th at 5:30pm. Kids are invited to make a craft on June 25th at 1:00pm. Ming Louie will present a Chinese cooking program on June 27th at 5:30pm. Musician Mat Emerick will perform at the Byron Branch on June 17th at 1:00pm. A kids movie night will take place at the branch on June 18th at 5:00pm. Popcorn will be provided. Contact the branch manager at 810-266-4620 EXT 312 to learn which movie will be shown.

The Lennon Branch will host Science Alive! on June 19th at 4:30pm. Kids can get creative and make a rock necklace at the branch on June 26th at 4:00pm. Preregistration is required for these events so please call 810-621-3202.
On June 18th-20th summer reading participants at the New Lothrop Branch can stop by the library to create a treasure map! Kids can stop by to make a can of worms on June 25th-27th. Baffling Bill the magician will offer a magic workshop on June 19th at 10:30am. The Howell Nature Center will present a program at the branch on June 26th at 10:30am. The Perry Branch will host craft days for kids on June 19th and 26th at 2:00pm. A Monday movie night will be held at 6:00pm on June 17th. Popcorn and pop will be provided. Please contact the staff to learn which movie will be shown. Candy Bingo will be played at the branch on June 24th at 3:00pm. A Manga and Graphic Novels drawing workshop with Mark Crilley will be held at the branch on June 27th at 2:00pm. Morrice Branch Temporary Closure
Morrice Branch of the Community District Library is temporarily closed after experiencing repeated water damage and mold growth. Safety is a number one priority of the Community District Library and temporary closure is a precaution for the health and safety of patrons and staff. Patrons who have materials on hold may pick them up at the Perry Branch. CDL also has branches in Bancroft, Byron, Corunna, Lennon and New Lothrop to serve you. We apologize for any inconvenience and will work hard to have Morrice safely up and running as soon as possible.
