About the Friends
For more than 3 decades, the Friends of the Corunna/Caledonia branch of the Community District Library have been forwarding initiatives to support the Library in various ways. By spearheading fundraising efforts, volunteering, and advocacy, the Friends are a vital organization to The Community District Library. The Friends organization holds 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service.
Friends value public libraries as cultural, educational and recreational centers and contribute their time, effort, and the resources of their organization to further develop the libraries' potential as a dynamic force in our community.
It's good to have a friend, and very good to BE one! Contact the Corunna branch at 989-743-4800 for more information about joining the Friends.
Sources of Funds
The Read Before Book Store: The Friends operate a used books store which sells books of all genre types and for patrons of all ages. The bookstore is staffed entirely by volunteers and stocked by book donations from the community. Sales benefit a wish list of items for the Corunna branch.

Used Book Sales: The Friends host two large book sales a year (May and October), in conjunction with a bake sale. Used materials are collected as The Community District Library removes items from its collection and through private donations.
Baskets: Several times a year the Friends make special gift baskets filled with unique items for patrons to purchase. The baskets are on display during the Christmas holiday season and other holidays. Basket materials and items come from donations and are also purchased throughout the year.
