Who can borrow a Thing
Due to the unique nature of these materials, only library cardholders who are 18+ may borrow an item from the Library of Things collection. You can learn more about who can get a library card by visiting the Get a Library Card webpage.
How to borrow your Thing
All items from the Library of Things collection must be picked up at and returned to the Perry Branch of the library during open hours. Items will not travel through the delivery service.
You may place a hold request by making sure to select the Perry Branch as the pick up location. You can borrow up to one Thing at any one time for a one-week period. We understand some Things require additional time beyond seven days, so all Library of Things materials have the option to renew one time for an additional week of use.
How to return your Thing
Adult cardholders from any Community District Library location may borrow items from the Library of Things collection; however, all Library of Things items must be returned to the Perry Branch of the library where the item was originally borrowed from. Make sure all contents are placed back inside the box/container, and bring your Thing to the library's circulation desk.
Items from the Library of Things collection may not be returned through the library book drop.
This collection is made possible by the generous donation of the Ken and Jo Anne O'Berry Trust.
